Victory for Ballaghadreen/ Kilmovee Shamrocks in Minor B Final over Ballina Stephenites

In a remarkable result that would have made our former pupil and teacher, John O’Mahony, immensely proud, everyone at St. Nathy’s College extends huge congratulations to the many members of our Senior Football team who, playing with Ballaghadereen/Kilmovee Shamrocks, captured the Mayo Minor B Final yesterday by defeating Ballina Stephenites with a score of 2-09 to 1-11.

This is a fantastic achievement for a group of young players representing an amalgamation of two neighbouring clubs at Bórd na nÓg level. The merger of these teams required a step up in grade to B level — a challenge they embraced with determination and spirit.

Their journey to the final was marked by many committed performances, and in a tightly contested decider, they edged out a very strong Ballina Stephenites side. Several standout displays will surely have caught the attention of the Mayo management, reaffirming that East Mayo remains a hotbed of footballing talent.

Here’s to the hope that, before long, our past pupil Andy Moran will be calling on more St. Nathy’s men to don “The Green Above The Red.”

Comhghairdeas mór libh go léir, a bhuachaillí.
