Garda Support Open Day
St. Nathy’s TY Students Attend Garda Operational Support Services Open Day.
On November 7th, four of our Transition Year students participated in the Garda Operational Support Services Open Day in Westmanstown, Co. Meath. This exciting event offered a unique opportunity to explore various specialist units within An Garda Síochána.
Students engaged with members of the Mounted Unit, Water Unit, Air Support Unit, Public Order Unit, and Armed Support Unit. They learned about the diverse and critical roles each unit plays in maintaining public safety and responding to emergencies across Ireland.
The day was both informative and inspiring, allowing students to gain valuable insights into the dedication, teamwork, and expertise involved in these operations. It also served as an excellent introduction to the possibilities of a career in law enforcement.
A big thank you to Garda Sinéad Higgins for organising this enriching experience for our students. Such opportunities broaden their understanding of vital community roles and encourage personal growth and exploration.
