On the 12th  October  5 TY students attended a Garda Open Day in Westmanstown Co. Dublin.

It was an early start as they were collected by the Garda bus at 7.45. Enroute they collected 5 students from Castlerea and then headed for Dublin. When they arrived, they saw the garda helicopter take off, the equipment involved in the water unit, the horse unit, and the dog unit, which was all very interesting and gave them a great insight into all the different specialist areas in the guards . After finishing in Westmanstown they stopped in Supermac’s on the way home. The TYs are really looking forward to their next trip with the Guards in February.
