Transition Year 2026: A Year of Growth, Achievement and Success

Transition Year students marked the completion of their year on Friday, May 18th, with a well-deserved celebration of their many achievements. The morning began with a screening of their highly successful musical production, Billie, a standout highlight for many and a wonderful example of all the talent, creativity, and teamwork developed throughout the year.

Following the break, students gathered for a special awards ceremony, where the breadth of their accomplishments was recognised and celebrated. From volunteering and fundraising to completing their Gaisce awards, participating in workshops, and engaging in numerous educational trips, this year’s TY group has embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and commitment. Their contributions to school life have been significant, and along the way they have developed new skills, explored new interests, and built lasting friendships.

Each student was presented with an individual certificate to acknowledge their participation and effort. In addition, the following special awards were presented: Natalia Helowicz received the award for Highest Achiever; Zoe McDonagh was honoured with the Spirit of TY award; and Conor Hunt was named Student of the Year.

We extend our sincere congratulations to all students for a fantastic year. We wish them a relaxing and enjoyable summer break and every success as they move into Fifth Year. There is no doubt that they are heading towards a bright and exciting future.
