🔋 Powering Change: A Huge Success for Our School Battery Drive
Over the past six weeks, our school community has come together in an extraordinary way to support our Green Schools initiative through a whole-school battery collection drive. Thanks to the combined efforts of students, staff and families, we collected well over 300 kilograms of batteries.
All collections were gathered and finalised ahead of last Friday’s deadline, a testament to the organisation, commitment and drive shown right across the school community.
A key part of the initiative was our inter-class tutor group competition, which brought energy, enthusiasm and a healthy sense of rivalry to the campaign. Students across all year groups worked tirelessly to collect and contribute as many batteries as possible.
A special congratulations must go to Ms. Farrell’s tutor class and Ms. Brunker’s tutor class, who emerged as winners in the junior and senior categories. Between them, these two groups collected an outstanding 90 kilograms of batteries, a remarkable contribution to the overall effort.
To celebrate their achievement, a well-earned pizza party was held today, recognising their fantastic effort and commitment to the initiative.
While we are incredibly proud of what has been achieved so far, the campaign is not quite over. We are encouraging any remaining batteries at home to be dropped into the school to go towards next years entry.
Finally, a sincere thank you to all parents, students and staff for their support, effort and enthusiasm throughout this initiative. Your contribution has made a real difference and highlights the positive impact we can have when we work together.
