Huge congratulations to this remarkable squad who are now 15 games unbeaten counting their first year Connacht triumph as they battled scorching conditions in a sun soaked Umbro Park in Castlebar. After going 1-0 down off a corner in the first half the girls showed remarkable grit and determination to overcome the deficit. A perfectly looped volley over the goalies head equalised for St. Nathy’s courtesy of top scorer Mila Clancy and a 25-30 yard screamer won it for the team thanks to Saerlaith Dillon. It wasn’t all about the goals though as the defence and midfield held strong at numerous times to keep out an extremely determined Davitt College side! Melissa Sharkey earned the player of the match award with two goal line clearances which ensured the team didn’t go 2-0 down or let the 2-1 lead slip.
