Victory for Our U17 Soccer Team as Youngest player on the squad shines through with a hat trick!
Well done to our under 17 soccer team who shot to victory today in Boyle for the start of their championship campaign. A lively first half saw St. Nathy’s take the lead with a superb finish from Mila Clancy who has now scored near 30 goals in her 4 years in the school. A remarkable achievement for such a young player.
Boyle equalised with a well taken penalty and went in 1-1 at the break. However, St. Nathy’s reclaimed all control of the half when Eloise McDonnell, the youngest player of the entire squad capped off a fantastic break by tapping it into the Boyle net. She continued that form scoring the next and secured her hat trick within 17 minutes of being on the pitch. Mila Clancy followed up her earlier finish with another while Saerlaith Dillon rammed home a screamer of a goal from a long distance. To close out the game after a remarkable endurance of pressure from Boyle, Ruby McDonagh finished out the scoring from tight range to end the game 7-1.
St. Nathy’s soccer is back to its winning ways and face Carrick on Friday at 10:30am in Gurteen. Come down to support if you can. All are welcome!
