The Unstoppables
The Unstoppable Team, captained by Cian Carty won the U14, A League on June 19th. An emphatic win with a score line of 6-12 to 2-3 over Drumcliffe/Rosses point in Markievicz Park.
Their Feile and U15 League Final came in the same week of August. The U15 League Final was first which saw them playing Drumcliffe/Rosses Point for a second county final in a row. It was a lovely day for football and a lovely day for our boys who ran out winners again in Markievicz.
Five days after their victory, the Feile competition took place in Sligo’s Centre of Excellence. There were six teams challenging for the A Feile, Harps comfortably making their way to the final, came up against a strong willed Enniscrone/Kilglass side but, in the end, it was 2-5 to 0-2 in Eastern Harps favour.
The U15 Championship was their hardest competition coming up against the likes of Coolera/Strandhill, Enniscrone and again playing Drumcliffe in yet another county final. Drumcliffe started the game well but Harps got into the game and finished the game well with another outstanding score line of 4-15 to 0-11.
We here at St. Nathy’s College are delighted with this success as numerous players from the team attend our school. Well done to TY students Conor Walsh and Luke McGrath, 3rd years Marty Murray, Martin Mckeown, Jim Molloy and Aaron O’Gara, and 2nd year Noah Phillips.
