Thank You to the UCG Team for a Most Educational Visit to St. Nathy’s
Yesterday, January 14th, we had the great pleasure of welcoming a dedicated team of staff from University College Galway (UCG). We would like to say a sincere “Thank You” to all members of the UCG team who took the time to visit us, many of whom travelled long distances, to meet with our Leaving Cert and senior cycle students.
Their commitment, preparation, and enthusiasm were evident from the moment they arrived, and the visit proved to be incredibly beneficial to all who attended.
The UCG staff set up an impressive range of stands representing a wide variety of faculties and services. Each stand offered targeted, practical, and thoughtful guidance designed to help students better understand their future academic options.
Our students greatly appreciated the opportunity to speak directly with UCG representatives about:
- Undergraduate courses across all major disciplines
- Accommodation options and supports available for first‑year students
- Scholarships, grants, and financial supports
- Student services, including wellbeing, academic support, sports, and societies
- Alternative pathways and additional routes into UCG
The one‑to‑one advice offered throughout the morning was invaluable. The staff were very approachable and encouraging. The information the students received helped to clarify their plans for next year. We would also like to thank the other schools who joined us for this event.
We are very grateful to UCG for continuing to support and guide prospective students as they prepare for life after secondary school. Visits like this play an essential role in helping young people make informed choices about their futures.
We look forward to welcoming UCG back again in the future and continuing our strong connection with the university.
Thank you once again to all involved for making the day such a success.
