Success for our U15 girls’ soccer team

Congratulations to the U15 girls’ soccer team sponsored by Johnny Grennan Roofing, who continue a 13 game unbeaten streak since last years First year Connacht triumph as they overcame St. Mary’s Ballina 4-1 in an exciting game that was end to end despite the score line.

 
Inside the first twenty minutes goals from Mila Clancy (2) and Aoibheann Conway (1) gave the team a comfortable lead but coming up to half time St. Mary’s began to regain possession more often and missed a close chance but it was saved by the adept skills of Meabh Lavin.
 
After the break, St Mary’s began to control more of the game but St. Nathy’s stayed resilient for twenty minutes until an unfortunate miscommunication happened that led to a goal for Ballina.
 
After the goal however, St. Nathy’s came back into the game and re-established their control with the last kick of the game resulting in the fourth goal that was lobbed over the goalkeeper by Zoe McDonagh.
 
The girls now face either Ballinasloe or Colaiste St Einde in the Connacht quarter final. Well done ladies.
