St. Nathy’s Girls play in the Roscommon/Leitrim Foootball Blitz
On Wednesday September 10th a group of Second year girls represented the school in the Roscommon/Leitrim football blitz. The girls were in a group of three, with the top team progressing to the Final. Our first opposition were Boyle. St. Nathy’s led by a goal at half time but Boyle came back in the second half. Michaela Lenehan made a number of great saves to keep St. Nathy’s in the game and it finished a draw. Next up was Carrigallen A. After a slow start to the first half St. Nathy’s found their scoring boots in the second half to win by 8 points! Drumshanbo VS awaited in the final.
The girls played their best football of the day and opened up a big lead in the first half with a great team performance. The game finished 6-3 to 2-5 and afterwards St. Nathys were presented with the shield. Well done to all the girls involvedĀ
