Into the West.
On Sunday the 30th of March, in the company of our German exchange students, the Transition Years from St.Nathys College made a memorable trip to Ballintubber Abbey, Crough Patrick and Turlough House.
It was a glorious day, and when we arrived at Ballintubber Abbey for a Tour and Mass, the Scenery was majestic and peaceful. Fr.Frank showed us many historical sites around the area and told us many stories about Catholic Persecution in Ireland. We then attended mass in the church which was lovely and the German group thought it provided a great touch to the day. After Mass we went to Crough Patrick. It was particularly nice because in Germany there is only flat land, the view was spectacular as the sky was cloudless and many photographs were taken on the first level we climbed.
We then finally stopped in Turlough house in Castlebar. The Weather was lovely and we all had fun beside the lake. The day was enjoyable and successful for everyone involved.
