Hiking, Bonding & Unplugging: TY’s Ox Mountain Gaisce Experience

Twenty TY students recently completed their Gaisce Bronze Award overnight adventure journey with an unforgettable trip to Ox Mountain Glamping.

The group took on an impressive 22km hike along the Sligo Way, trekking through breathtaking mountain trails, dense forests, and around the stunning Lough Easkey.

A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts Monica, Dermot, Pamela, Vincent, and Mary, for their warm hospitality, expert guidance, and great craic throughout the experience.

The trip was filled with team bonding, fresh air, and lasting memories, offering students a truly enriching opportunity to disconnect from mobile phones and devices and reconnect with nature.

After a day on the trails, the students enjoyed a well-earned, delicious homemade chicken curry, prepared together and full of flavour. The evening was rounded off with a sing-song and cosy chats around the fire, making for a truly special and memorable experience.

An inspiring and refreshing adventure that will stay with everyone involved for years to come.
