Congratulations to Eilís Taheny 5th Year

Euroscola Adventure: From ‘Life Skills’ Class to Strasbourg!

A huge congratulations to Eilís Taheny (5th Year), who recently returned from an unforgettable trip to Strasbourg, France as part of the Euroscola Programme. Eilís earned this incredible opportunity through her ‘Life Skills’ class with teacher Ms. Scally, proving that learning practical skills can open doors to amazing experiences!

Eilís joined 23 other students from across Ireland and three teachers for a jam-packed itinerary that mixed culture, education, and a little festive magic.

The adventure began with a flight from Dublin to Frankfurt, followed by a scenic trip to Colmar, a charming town famous for its Christmas markets. Here, the group soaked up the festive atmosphere, sampled local treats, and even enjoyed a ride on the Ferris wheel, a perfect start to the trip!

The highlight of the trip? A full day at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Students took part in interactive activities, engaged in debates, and met peers from across Europe—an experience that brought democracy to life. They learned firsthand how decisions are made at the heart of the EU and discovered the importance of active citizenship.

Beyond the Parliament, the group explored Strasbourg city, sampling delicious food and wandering through its picturesque streets. On the final day, they visited Heidelberg, home to a stunning castle perched above the city. A cable car ride down offered breathtaking views before the group headed back to the airport, full of memories and new friendships.

Eilís’ trip was proudly sponsored by the Northern & Western Regional Assembly, making this educational adventure possible.
