B.T. Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition
The staff and students of St. Nathy’s College would like to congratulate Alex Gallagher Lynch, on his excellent achievement, at the B.T. Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition. I was delighted to have the opportunity to interview the present school celebrity and budding scientist. Here is how our interview went.
Q. What was your project about?
A. My project was about addressing the issue of unnoticed road signs.
Q. Where did you get the idea?
A. I got the idea from my own personal driving experience and from reports from other drivers who have missed road signs.
Q. When did you begin working on your project?
A. I began the project at half-term, February 2013.
Q. When did you decide to enter the project in the B.T. awards?
A. During the first term of fourth year.
Q. What categories did you enter?
A. I entered the technology section.
Q. What awards did you win?
A. I received second place in Senior Technology and the ComReg Special Award (communication award).
Q. Do you hope to develop the project any further?
A. Yes, hopefully during my summer holidays.
Q. How do you plan to develop it?
A. It’s top secret!
Q. Do you plan to pursue a career in science?
A. Yes, hopefully in Particle Physics.
