A Hands-On Baking Experience with My Strandhill Bakery

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dimitar from My Strandhill Bakery to our school, where he delivered a fantastic baking session for some of our lucky Transition Year students. Based in Sligo, My Strandhill Bakery is renowned for its focus on traditional baking techniques and high-quality handmade goods, with Dimitar bringing a deep passion for authentic methods and simple, natural ingredients to his craft.

During his visit, Dimitar shared his expertise through an engaging, hands-on workshop that allowed students to experience the art of baking firsthand. His approach not only demonstrated the skills involved in traditional baking but also highlighted the importance of patience, precision, and creativity in the process.

Dimitar regularly visits schools to deliver workshops like this, helping to inspire young people and giving them the opportunity to develop practical skills in a fun and interactive way. Our TY students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, gaining a new appreciation for the craft of baking and the dedication behind every loaf and pastry.
