West of Ireland Women’s Mini Marathon
Last Tuesday the 4th of May, our Transition Year students came together to take part in the ‘West of Ireland Women’s Mini Marathon’ raising much needed funds for Pieta House.
Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, the rain held off and the students completed their 10k walk and run around the town of Ballaghadereen and the school pitch.
Prizes were kindly sponsored by Molly’s Chemist and Murphy’s ‘Totalhealth’ Pharmacy. The winner of the fastest male participant was Oision Bracken. The fastest female and overall fastest time was won by Latisha Beirne.
The TYs would like to thank their sponsors for their very generous gifts and Ms. Gleeson for organising the event and the refreshments.
Well done to the TY’s, Ms. Gleeson and Mr. Brady for completing this very worthy event.
