School Trustee

St. Nathy’s College was established by the Priests of the Diocese of Achonry in 1810. The College Trustee is the Bishop of Achonry and Elphin.

Most Reverend Kevin Doran is the Bishop of Achonry and Elphin.

He was appointed Bishop of Achonry on 16th February 2025. He was installed as Bishop of Achonry on 30th March 2025 in the Cathedral of the Annunciation and Saint Nathy, Ballagahderreen.

Bishop Kevin spent 37 years as priest of Dublin Diocese prior to his appointment as Bishop of Elphin on May 14th 2014. During that time he ministered in six parishes. He was also, at various stages, Education Secretary for Vocational Schools, and Chaplain at University College Dublin. He taught Philosophy and Moral Theology on a part time basis at Mater Dei Institute and subsequently the Milltown Institute.

Bishop Doran’s first pastoral letter, “A Future Full of Hope” on Catholic Education, was published in November 2014. He has also contributed to various pastoral and academic journals.

As Bishop of Achonry and Elphin, Bishop Kevin is Patron of St. Nathy’s College.
