Famine Walk
Famine Walk
The National Famine Museum has recently launched the Famine Walk, a 136 km trail which follows the route of those who left Strokestown en route to what was hoped to be a better life, beginning at the Docks in Dublin.
The trail is punctuated with brass shoes and each participant is given a ticket and information regarding those who first made this journey.
Mr. O’Suilleabhan and Ms. Fergus completed the first leg of the journey with our TYs, the very first school group to take on the challenge, and it is hoped that the students will complete the whole trail before the end of their TY year.
