St. Nathy’s College, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon
has a long and proud tradition in musical accomplishment. A very
important part of that tradition is its College Choir. Consisting of
almost 250 students and staff, the choir gives an annual public
performance of Carols and Readings. This charity performance takes
place during the Season of Advent in the neighbouring Cathedral.
Under the skilful direction of staff members, Anne Kielty and Mary
Sheridan, the reputation of this choir has grown from strength to
strength over the years and is now recognised as one of the leading
School Choirs in the country.
It is with great pride we present this Service of Carols & Readings.
It serves as an appropriate beginning to our Bicentenary
Celebrations throughout 2010. The recording was made in the
Cathedral of The Annunciation & St. Nathy's Ballaghaderreen on
December 10th 2009. We hope it captures some of the wonder, awe and
magic of that performance. Enjoy. © St. Nathy’s College, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon MMIX |
