Fun on the Water

On 29/09/2021, the St Nathy’s Transition Years were treated to some paddle boarding on the River Moy in Ballina, Co Mayo.

Despite the freezing cold water, they had to brave the water without wetsuits.

They started off slowly kneeling down and getting used to rowing and after a few hours, they were able to stand up balance and navigate their boards around tight spaces, while dealing with the flow of the river. Almost everyone eventually fell off and into the freezing cold water.

The day was rounded off with a tour of the Jackie Clarke Museum and something to eat. A  fun-filled and educational day out in Ballina!
