Clash of the Clubs
Ballaghaderreen v Kilmovee local rivals were playing in the East Mayo B final in the Centre of Excellence in Bacon last Monday night, the 11th of October. The first half was close with Kilmovee ahead by 4 points with Sean O’Dowd scoring a penalty and leaving it 1-5 to 1-1 as the half time whistle was being blown. Coming into the second half, Kilmovee were still leading well and finished the third quarter with a strong 10-point lead. Coming out into the last quarter, Ballagh despite being 10 points down, didn’t give up and put in a huge performance levelled the game to bring it to extra time. Just before the final whistle however, an unfortunate Kilmovee player, Michael Regan, broke his arm and was taken to the hospital. It was neck and neck in extra time but Kilmovee pulled ahead and finished 3-15 to 4-8. A great win for the Kilmovee lads.
